# Roger W. Smith > Roger W. Smith is one of the world's leading independent watchmakers, creating bespoke, hand-built mechanical watches on the Isle of Man. A protégé of master watchmaker George Daniels, Roger advances the Daniels Method and the co-axial escapement through traditional British craftsmanship and continual technical development. Roger W. Smith Ltd designs, manufactures, finishes and assembles its watches in-house at its Isle of Man workshop. Each watch is made to order, with annual production limited to approximately 15 to 20 pieces.
