Roger attends GREAT Britain Ambassadors’ dinner at Downing Street
7th Janruary 2015The Prime Minister hosted a dinner at Downing Street on 3 December for the first GREAT ambassadors, at which he recognised the importance of their contribution to the GREAT Britain campaign and encouraged them to continue their involvement. Roger (pictured 5th from left) joined some well-known faces of British industry, creativity and sport, such as Kelly Hoppen, Stella McCartney, David Bailey, Ken Hom, Katherine Jenkins and 2012 Olympian, Tom Daley.
Roger was invited to become an ambassador for the GREAT Britain campaign in recognition of his personal support and contribution to the UK’s most ambitious international promotional campaign ever. The GREAT Britain campaign showcases the very best of what Britain has to offer to encourage the world to visit, study and do business with the UK, to deliver jobs and growth at home.
The GREAT Britain campaign has delivered a direct return to the economy of over £1bn and is now active in 144 countries. Unifying the international growth promotion efforts of UK Trade & Investment, VisitBritain, British Council, FCO and a number of other departments, GREAT aims to deliver significant and long-term increases in trade, tourism, education and inward investment in support of HMG’s prosperity and growth agenda.
Roger created the now iconic GREAT Britain watch to showcase the pinnacle of British mechanical watchmaking, and the watch, now valued at in excess of £250,000, is travelling to Britain’s key international markets to champion British creativity, innovation and technology, alongside key brands such as McLaren and Bentley.
Roger will be showcased at the upcoming GREAT Festival of Creativity in Shanghai, China (2-4 March) which will be featured shortly.
